Inspired by Out of the Darkness, Into The Light by Kevin Kern. This is my piece for TerraNuts August terrain challenge. Be sure to drop by the site.

This was mainly done as more atmospjere practice. Its done intentionaly at a 16:9 ratio for a more 'movie' feel to it. A fullscreen crop is avaiable upon request. Original is 4000x2200 rendered in 8 hours. Comments and Crits welcome. Full view to appreciate the widescreen effect better :D

Beautiful and dramatic render. The aspect ratio does indeed add a ton of not only drama and feeling to this, but it also increases the overall appeal of the "shot". The atmosphere looks great, if anything because I'd never have thought something so bright could look good - but you pulled it off here very smoothly. The scattered snow gives a sense of cold, so the approaching sun adds heaps of warmth to the image.

It's going on my desktop now. Well well done :D

Love the wide panoramic look. The glow is impressive. I'm not a Terrragen techie, I look more at an image as I would at any work of art and the glow could have been dominant for me, but the detail in the foregound just manages to balance it.

Looks great...I do love playing with Terragen.

Ann :)
